Energy Savings

All Panto’s products are made to measure with exclusive manufacturing technology, which guarantees excellent heat insulation, soundproofing and durability.
Our windows are made of laminated Teak, Oak or Meranti wood, stable materials of excellent water, air and wind tight performance. Panto has also increased the thickness of its window frames up to 8 cm; at least four layers of laminated wood, a real shield that makes frames more steady and strong. The special double glazing panels with magnetronic glass, ensure a heat insulation which is at least twice as a normal insulating pane, and could be compared with a 40 cm thick brick wall. These features ensure the maximum of thermal insulation, soundproofing and a considerable energy saving.
The shutters are available in different versions and are manufactured with laminated wood. They are supplied with extremely beautiful and durable support and shutting systems in painted steel available in two finishes or zinced.
The entry doors are fitted with gasket and heat and sound high insulation panels. Sturdy, adjustable steel hinges, 5-point manual or automatic locks and optional shatter-proof glass guarantee a high security level.
Panto’s production of entry doors offers a vast range of wood species and models, with special gaskets ensuring a silent shutting and a high soundproofing power.
The armour-plated entry doors have a standard internal mechanic security system with up to 9 bolting points and a 20/10-thick steel polyester-painted structure. They are also supplied with an internal soundproof panel and with safety lock.
Our overhead garage doors are manufactured using a strong sheet steel and are equipped with manual lifting-system or with remote control.

Ministerial Decree of 02/04/1998 on “Certification conditions of the characteristics and energy performance of building components and of the installations connected to them”, related to law10/91 on reduction of energy consumption and on the utilization of renewable heat sources, provides for compulsory Energy Certification of Frames. Therefore, starting from 5th May 2000, date when the M.D. came into force, each frame manufacturer is obliged to supply the purchaser with a Declaration of energy compliance where energy performance of the product must be specified according to the reference regulations by means of specific laboratory tests, where they are foreseen. Attachment A of the regulation at point II states that:
“certification is compulsory for transparent or translucent frames and perimeter elements with global conductance level below 5 W/m² K”. The characteristics needing to be certified are:
Air Permeability (according to UNI EN 1026);
Light Transmission (according to UNI EN 8034);
Heat Transmission (according to UNI EN ISO 10077-1).
By the approval of Leg. Decree no.192 of 19th August 2005, published on the Official Gazette no. 241 of 15th October 2005, Italy acknowledged European regulation 2002/91/CE concerning energy performance in building matters. This decree provides that, within a year from the date the decree has become effective, buildings shall have to be fitted with energy certification. The certificate containing the data concerning building energy performance, which will be valid for 10 years, will have to be enclosed to the deed of sale or be placed at the lessee’s in case the estate is leased.
The purpose of this certification is contributing to the reduction of power consumption.
We would also like to specify that while European Regulation 2002/91/CE provides for energy certification for both new buildings and already existing ones, Italian acknowledging Decree only applies to new-construction buildings because Italy decided to postpone to the near future the compulsory issuing of energy certification for already existing buildings. Buildings for which the certification is required are the following:
New-construction buildings;
Buildings with a surface lager than 1000 mq subject to complete renovation or to demolition and reconstruction;
Volumetric enlargements above 20% of the building.
Excluded buildings are:
Historic premises;
Factory, craftsman and agricultural buildings for production process requirements;
Isolated buildings with a usable space below 50 mq.
Therefore, this decree for the first time establishes some heat transmission borderline values for transparent or perimeter elements and glasses according to the climatic area the building belongs to. These values became compulsory on 1st January 2006 and will be fartherly reduced on 1st January 2009.
On 02/02/2007 Leg. Decree no. 311 of 29th December 2006 became effective. This regulation concerns “Corrective and additional dispositions to legislative decree no. 192 of 19th August 2005, which defines the criteria for fulfilment of directive 2002/91/CE”.
Leg. D. no. 311 imposes further reductions of borderline heat transmission values, anticipating the ones foreseen for 01/01/2009 to 01/01/2008 and adding more restrictive limits starting from 01/01/2010 as per charts “4.a” e “4.b” attached.
PANTO S.p.A. for each frame supply delivers a “General Information Handbook” containing in chapter Documents the Declaration of Energy Certification of the Product, making reference:
for Glass and Frame Heat Transmission to the Invoice;
for Light Transmission to an attached chart;
for Air Permeability to the test reports issued by the CERT of Treviso Tecnologia.

PANTO SPA Company
states that frames supplied to customers comply with what established by law10/91 art. 32, by M.D. 2nd April 1998 and by L. D. of 19th August 2005 no. 192.
In particular, the company declares that:
this frame, considered as the expression of the average typology of product for buildings intended for dwelling-house use or trade use, shows the following characteristics:

1) total heat transmission has been determined by means of calculations as established by regulation UNI EN ISO 10077/1. The corresponding value expressed in W/m2 °K is specified on the invoice.

2) light transmission of the double glazing panel 4 Float clear/15/ 4 Float clear, is about 83%. For other glass combinations please refer to the attached chart called “double glazing criteria”.

3) air Permeability of different frames corresponds to the values mentioned in the chart “air permeability values” attached, as defined by law EN 12207 (ex UNI 7979/79). Frame air permeability has been checked by means of specific laboratory tests carried out accordingly to law EN 1026 (ex UNI EN 42/75);
The results of air permeability are quoted in the test reports issued by Frame and Internal Partitions Laboratory of CERT of Treviso Tecnologia. They can be viewed in the authorized showrooms.
